Dear patients,

Have you ever felt after a dentist’s appointment that there was too much information, and you might have forgotten something? To make it easier for our patients, we are recording a number of educational videos addressing frequently asked questions. You can view these before or after your appointment.

Our first videos explain latest orthodontic techniques, namely, how teeth can be aligned with Invisalign aligners so that the devices are hardly noticeable. You can watch the video here.

We would appreciate your feedback concerning the topics of our remaining videos. Please tell us what questions you have had about dental treatments, and our follow-up videos might be of use to other patients, too.

Leave us your feedback info@kliinik32.ee

Synapse Podcast (Estonian ‘Sünaps’)

Doctor Reet Pallase, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Kliinik 32, took part in the Synapse podcast broadcast by the Estonian Health Museum, which focuses on wisdom teeth and cases when they need to be removed.

Pleasant listening!

Our support of theatre

As a patron of culture, Kliinik 32 has made its third major donation to sponsor culture and remind businesses that cultures and creators’ message is also important in addition to the coverage of the horrors of war. We were in the right place at the right time to contribute to the production of Julia Aug’s documentary anti-war performance “F*** the war. Letters from the frontline”, which took only two weeks from the idea to the premiere. The remarkable piece by Vaba Lava Theatre has by now been performed in Tallinn Narva, Tartu and Brussels, and another performance is schedule for 23 July in Imatra, Finland.

During the play, the audience becomes witness to Julia Aug’s real-life conversations and correspondence with her friends and colleagues, actors and directors staying in war-torn Ukraine whom she managed to contact (and, in some cases, later lost contact with). “Letters from the line” reaches out to people in the midst of the war, for instance, in Kharkiv, Mariupol, to show their daily reality through their personal accounts of what is happening.

What Ukrainians are facing today brings back painful memories in numerous Estonian families and is probably why Estonia is among the countries to have provided the greatest support to Ukraine. This is also why, doctor Reet Pallase thinks, the shareholders of Kliinik 32 unanimously agreed culture needed support after humanitarian aid had been dispatched. “Nearly every family has a story about what people face when they are forced to abandon their homes. We all know what happens to those who are forcibly relocated or have to flee and no longer have a home to return to even after several decades,” Pallase says.

Canoe team no. 32 took part in Võhandu Marathon to support dentistry in Estonia

On 21 April, a team representing Kliinik 32 took part in Võhandu Marathon. Proudly wearing number 32, we competed among 1065 canoe teams to cover 100 kilometres along the river. However, we had an additional goal: our race was dedicated to the Estonian Dentistry Scholarship Foundation, encouraging all the dentists, dental clinics, and our partners in Estonia to contribute to the creation of the foundation so that the University of Tartu can award a scholarship in dentistry to the most remarkable student, resident, doctoral programme student or lecturer as early as in 2022.

“The high standard of education and research at the University of Tartu is important for all of us as it allows the quality of dental services in Estonia to be maintained and new top specialists to develop,” says doctor Piret Väli, president of the Estonian Dental Association. To create the foundation, the association signed an agreement with Tartu University and appealed to all Estonian dental clinics and the public for donations to raise the foundation’s fixed assets. The first round of accepting applications for scholarships is to start in August 2022, and the scholarship winners will be announced in December during the events held to celebrate the anniversary of the University.

Kliinik 32 supported the foundation with its symbolic 100-kilometre boat race and a donation of 10,000 euros. Lauri Vahtra, the head of the clinic, explains: “Most of our dentists went to the University of Tartu, and it provides excellent education in the international context. But we could be even more proud of the alma mater if international dentistry conferences featured reports about the research conducted by the University of Tartu. The financing of education and research is an increasingly important topic, so the Estonian Dentistry Scholarship Foundation was created just in time.”
